What's new

What's new in GeoMarkup. Every release is listed here, newest first, all the way back to launch.

v2026.6.3

Live location on the map, sorting on shared maps, and a round of fixes.

This release adds your live location on the map — for yourself and, optionally, for your team — together with sorting on shared maps and several fixes.

Show details Hide details

New feature Live location on the map

Your current position now appears on the map as a live marker that updates as you move, with a heading indicator when your device has a compass.

  • Optional team sharing: enable it in Settings to share your live position with your workspace. It is off by default.
  • You stay in control: your marker is always visible to you, and turning sharing off removes it for everyone immediately.
  • Your position also appears on shared map links you open.

New feature Sorting on shared maps

The list on a shared map link can now be sorted, making it easier for recipients to find what they need.

Bugfix Fixes and polish

  • Closing a form now returns you to the tab you were on, instead of always jumping back to Tasks.
  • Task filters: search teammates by email, with clearer placeholders and no list overflow.
  • Steadier side panels: fixed sizing and flicker, and smoother behaviour on mobile.
  • Friendlier error and sign-in screens.
v2026.6.2

Share your map with a single link — plus more room for files and friendlier wizards.

This release is all about sharing your work: show your map to anyone by sending a plain link. On top of that, a few things that simply make everyday work easier.

Show details Hide details

Until now only your team could see your map. Not anymore — from now on you share it with a dedicated link, no account or sign-in needed on the other end. It only takes a few clicks.

  • You decide what’s visible. Show the tasks, notes, base maps and custom layers you want, and keep the rest just for your team.
  • Got the view just right? Lock the filters, date range and zoom so people see exactly what you meant to show — nothing more, nothing less.
  • Something for a chosen few? Put a password on the link (at least 8 characters) and hand it to the people you trust.
  • All your links live in one place, and the ones you no longer need you can wipe for good with a single click.

New feature More room for files

No more counting attachments — add as many files as you need. Each can be up to 25 MB, and up to 250 MB all together.

New feature Redesigned wizards

We took the task and obstruction wizards back to the drawing board and rebuilt them, so working with them is faster and simply more pleasant.

Bugfix Small but mighty

  • Closing a form with unsaved changes? We’ll ask first — nothing disappears by accident.
  • Deleting a workspace now works the way it should.
v2026.6.1

Give each workspace its own map — plus smoother teamwork, account fixes and mobile polish.

This update is all about making the map feel like yours from day one, with a handful of fixes that make everyday work smoother.

New feature Per-workspace map configuration

Each workspace now has its own map configuration, defined right after you create it:

  • Default country, map centre and zoom range.
  • Base maps and layers (e.g. Geoportal).

New feature Easier teamwork

  • We now ask you to confirm before removing a teammate or cancelling an invitation, so nothing happens by accident.
  • Create a new workspace and you jump straight into it.

New feature Nicer to use

  • Your browser tab now shows which part of the app you’re in, with the GeoMarkup icon.
  • The login screen opens in the same language you use in the app.

Bugfix Fixes

  • The app no longer randomly flickers between light and dark mode — the theme now stays put.
  • Changing your email address or password works again, with clearer success and error messages.

Bugfix On your phone

  • Map buttons get out of the way when a panel opens over them.
  • Tapping outside a panel to close it no longer pops up the “add” menu by mistake.
v2026.5.1

GeoMarkup launches — a live, browser-based map for managing fieldwork as a team.
